Pain Elimination and Mobility Restoration
Copyright 1995 by Dr. James H. Winer Many people suffer needlessly from a variety of chronic pain and resultant decreased movement, including such common complaints as carpal tunnel wrist syndrome, heel spur, frozen shoulder, knee, neck, low back and sciatic pain. We are so conditioned by the prevalent medical model of suppressing symptoms with painkilling drugs that we fail to examine the underlying causes of discomfort and demobilization. In my professional experience, I have found that much of the pain and limited motion, frequently mislabeled as arthritis, are the result of chronically tight muscles, misaligned bones, and aggravation by inappropriate diet. Deep tissue trigger point muscle therapy has been scientifically researched by Dr. Janet Travell, MD, President John F. Kennedy's physician. It often eliminates in a surprisingly rapid fashion all kinds of pain, while restoring normal range of movement. Often the problem muscle fibers causing the pain are somewhat distant from the area of pain perception. For example, pain and numbness in the hand, wrist or fingers may be coming from muscle tightness in the throat or shoulder blade. Often misaligned vertebrae in the neck or back contribute to pain or restricted range of motion, and require the expert hands of a doctor trained and experienced in adjustments. Often nutrition can be an important factor in chronic cases of pain and dysfunction, even if the suffering individual consumes the same diet on which they seemed to thrive prior to the onset of pain. The reason is that the injury has exacerbated the pain-producing biochemistry of the body. For complete recovery and freedom from the pain, the patient may need to change the diet, eating less arachidonic acid-containing foods (those of animal origin) and possibly supplementing the menu with state-of-the-art readily assimilated specific nutritional formulas that are tailor-made to assist the body in relaxing muscles, detoxifying lactic acid buildup from chronically-tensed tissues and inhibiting pain-producing body chemicals, available at the Pain Release Clinic's Health Store. This comprehensive approach for correcting the various underlying factors gives a more complete and rapid resolution to restricted movement and chronic pain problems. Effective Carpal Tunnel Treatment The most common work injury in the 1990's, according to NIOSH (National Industrial Occupational Safety and Health Administration) is carpal tunnel wrist problems. Many factors can trigger wrist pain, including repetitive or cumulative stress and trauma, poor design of workplace, typing on computer typewriters or conventional keyboards, or any excessive tension put on the neck, shoulder, arm, or hand, including frequent wrist-bending. Excerpts from Basic Nutrition Handbook The appalling state of our national health, amply documented by public and private studies, suggests a need to reexamine our lifestyle, particularly our eating habits. Figures proclaiming great advances in life expectancy computed from birth are misleading: the seeming increase is due largely to the lessening of childhood and infant mortality. The life expectancy of citizens over the age of 12 has not significantly increased since 1900, and the lowered rate of infant mortality, due to and yet despite modern hospitals and antibiotics, still ranks 17th among nations. Few people eat a balanced nutritious diet, including fresh fruits and vegetables, whole grains and breads, on a daily basis. Generally we Americans confine ourselves to a top-heavy meat protein diet, rounded out with sugary boxed cereals, desserts, french fries and synthetic foods and colas.
Did you know that cholesterol is a necessary nutrient, and that you could not survive without it? Your brain is largely made of cholesterol. Your hormones are made from cholesterol. The cell walls of the billions of cells that make up your body tissues are made of cholesterol. Cholesterol is only found in animals. So if you were a strict vegan vegetarian, your liver could make the cholesterol you need. The arbitrary 200 cholesterol threshhold was not derived scientifically: it was decided upon over a conversation during a cardgame by medical doctors with financial ties to the drug companies! Most people who have heart attacks have cholesterol under 200! Cholesterol medication users do NOT have a lower risk of heart attack, nor do they have an increase in longevity or lower risk of dying from a heart attack. The epidemic of Alzheimer's disease) memory loss and mental decline) is directly related to cholesterol medication. See the magazine " Smart Money" November, 2003 issue. Other serious consequences of cholesterol medication usage include: muscle pain and muscle weakness and damage(rhabdomyolosis), liver damage, CONGESTIVE HEART FAILURE, decreased immunity which results in increased infections and increased risk of cancer, severe fatigue, and even death! due to the lack of production of the vital energy-producing molecule Co-enzyme Q 10 (ubiquinone). In fact in England, it is a requirement that ALL cholesterol drugs contain CoQ10. Here in the United States, the statin cholesterol medications do NOT contain CoQ. At the very least, anyone on "statin" drugs such as Crestor, Lipitor, Vytorin, Mevachor, Pravachol, Zoc or, Lopid, etc. MUST TAKE at least 100-200mg of CoQ daily. Diet is the key to normalize body chemistry. If you eat the foods your body was designed to handle, in most cases you will have ideal body chemistry. Eliminate synthetic, hydrogenated fats found in margarine, Crisco, deep-fried foods, commercial peanut butters, and baked goods made with such plastic, indigestible artificial fat. Use butter and olive oil instead. There are many supplement products that the Pain Release Clinic carries whose ingredients have been shown to help, including our Cholesto Care.
